Barred owls nest in the woods on our farm and we see them fairly often. They look very sweet with their huge black eyes but they are really ferocious predators and catch a lot of rodents and rabbits!
Carved, pyrography, (wood burning), and oil tint on spalted maple. The background board is spruce wood that has been charred with the sho sugi ban burning technique. All the wood was grown and sustainably harvested on our farm. Sealed with cutting board oil.
