Autumn Owl
A red phase screech owl sits in an autumn maple tree.
This sculpture was created using salvaged American Cherry, American Walnut, and African Sapele. This is a fairly complicated piece that was fun to make. Each leaf was carved separately from a scrap of wood. The owl was carved from Sapele and then set into a slab of Cherry. The artwork was carved, painted, stained with oil paint, detailed with pyrography, and then assembled.
The owl has flown across the country to her new home! Congratulations to her new owner!
